What if understanding how communities frame conflict was the key to resolving it?
Comprehentia is a tool developed by peacebuilding organization The What If, which aims to transform conflict zones into hubs of understanding and inspiration.
Along the way, we recognized a recurring challenge: communities often hold competing narratives about the same issues. Bridging these divides requires first understanding them—by identifying, mapping, and analyzing how narratives differ and evolve.
This insight led to the creation of Comprehentia—a conflict-sensitive platform that helps peacebuilders, policymakers and journalists decode local narratives, monitor polarization, and act on real-time insights—ethically and effectively.
